I realized that people might be interested in reading my Master’s thesis, so here it is. The brief summary is that it’s about the ethics of health care through the lens of human limits, drawing especially on the writings of Oliver O’Donovan. Chapter 1 is about the limits of the body: what do our bodies need in order to thrive? What are our obligations to other human beings? Chapter 2 focuses in on the limits of medicine: what can medicine do best to safeguard and improve our health, and what is it not capable of doing? Chapter 3 turns to governance and politics: what can (or should) the government do or not do when it comes to providing or paying for health care and other aspects of health?
Enjoy!
